2nd New Faculty Member Joins This Spring

Luis Francisco-Revilla is the second faculty member to join the UT iSchool this spring. Luis has collaborated in the design and implementation of several hypermedia systems that explore different aspects of his research interests. These systems include: WARP, MMA, Path Manager and Walden's Paths. His research interests include (but are not limited to) Intelligent User Interfaces, Hypermedia, Digital Libraries, Medical Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Supported Cooperative Work, and Software Engineering.

Dr. Revilla has published numerous refereed conference publications, as well as in the Journal of Digital Information, International Journal on Digital Libraries, ACM Transactions on Information Systems, and ACM Transactions on Information Systems.

Luis holds an Electronics and Communications Engineering degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico), as well as a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Computer Science also in Texas A&M (USA). Luis joins us from a post-doctoral research position in the Center for the Study of Digital Libraries at Texas A&M University. He has taught classes in Machine Learning, Information Storage & Retrieval, Computer-Supported Collaborative Work, Human Computer Interaction, Hypertext, and Digital Libraries. During the spring 2006 semester he will be teaching INF 385C, User-System Interface Design.
