Bias receives IBM Faculty Award

For the second year in a row, iSchool Associate Professor Randolph Bias has received a $40,000 Faculty Award from the IBM-Austin Center for Advanced Studies. The award is to sponsor usability support that Bias and his students will provide the IBM-Austin Pervasive Computing (PvC) Lab. Currently, iSchool masters students Anuj Nanavati and Will Meurer are working with Bias to establish a remote usability testing protocol for the PvC Lab, and to identify ways of allowing individual devices (such as cell phones or PDAs) to automatically collect usability data and feed it back to usability testers.
