Government Rate:
Sound Savings has reserved 15 rooms at the federal per
diem rate of $80 per night. This rate applies to suites with 1
king or 1 queen size bed. This rate is not available for rooms
with 2 beds. The suite will have a pull-out sofa sleeper in the
living/dining room. Rooms are available on a first-come-first-serve-basis.
Guests must show a valid federal or state id at check-in. Once
this block is full, Doubletree will only be able to offer the
conference rate below.
Conference Rate:
Sound Savings has reserved 35 suites (20 with 1 bed and
15 with 2 beds) at a rate of $109.00/night. Rooms have a pull-out
sofa sleeper in the living/dining room.
To Book a Room:
- Sound Savings attendees may call 1-800-222-TREE to book
toll-free (mention "UT LIBRARY").
- To receive discounted rates, reservations must be made
prior to July 2, 2003.
- Attendees must identify whether they are booking at the government
or conference rate and be prepared to give dates of check-in and
check-out and a credit card to guarantee the reservation.

Bed and Breakfasts Within Walking Distance of Campus
Note: When booking a reservation at one of the
following B&Bs, please mention that you are attending the
"Audio Preservation Symposium." Book early--these B&Bs
are very popular!
Dobie Center
The Dobie Center is located directly across the street from the
Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center. You couldn't find accommodations
closer to the symposium venue!
Rate: Single room including tax, $36.80 /night. This rate includes
a private bath, maid service, access to the computer room, and outdoor
pool.
Note: Not all rooms listed on the Dobbie web site are available
for summer stays.
