About the SAA:

The Society of American Archivists UT-Austin Student Chapter is an organization of iSchool students. Our mission, as outlined by the national organization, is to introduce and integrate new archivists into the profession, provide additional focus for students to discuss archival issues, and promote archival interests within the University, academic departments, and the public at large. Throughout the academic year, we invite guest speakers, arrange archival education events, and organize trips to area repositories as away of expanding our education beyond the classroom.

News and Announcements:

Meet-N-Greet Happy Hour:
Welcome back to a new semester! We're starting this year off with a happy hour meet-n-greet on Thurs., Sept. 4 at 5.30pm at Scholz Garten, on the corner of San Jacinto & 16th St. Hope to see you there!

Fall Potluck:
Dr. David B. Gracy, II, and the SAA-UT will be hosting the Fall Semester Potluck on Friday, Sept. 12, starting 6.30pm at Dr. Gracy's home (2313 Tower Drive).

Everyone is welcome to this festive event!

A sign-up sheet is posted on the SAA-UT board outside the iSchool computer lab, in order to gauge how many may be attending.

Dr. Gracy will be providing yummy barbeque and delicious wine. You're welcome to bring your own dish, and can add it by your name on the sign up sheet.

Hope to see you all there!

We've also created a SAA-UT wiki for information and updates about several events this year, including photos and information about the Mexico Trip in May, our plans for and involvement with the national SAA Conference in San Francisco in August, and details about this years Archives Week.
